The Flames sixties music and rock 'n roll

The Flames' were formed in 1988 by lead guitarist John Burleigh and basist Roger Cover with Jeff Jeffery on rhythm guitar and Jeff Tuck on drums.Their music consists of the authentic sound of The Shadows, together with some hard driving Rock n' Roll, Johnny Kidd, Chuck Berry, Dave Edmunds style.

Their proffessional attitude on stage is reflected in the choreography, matching suits and guitars. Since the band was formed, they have played many venues across the country and abroad, which include; clubs, theatres, cruises, summer seasons, private functions and theme nights etc and have established themselves as a very popular Rock n' Roll outfit adored by many fans

The band have a collection of recordings available on C.D. vinyl and tape which also are very popular.

In 1991 the group teamed up with Jimmy Jemain, winner of Granada T.V.'s 'Stars In Their Eyes', performing as Cliff Richard and The Shadows, touring nationwide. The Flames have also backed some great Rock n' Roll legends, which include; Wee Willie Harris, Tommy Bruce, Terry Dene, Brian Gregg and Dave Sampson. All these shows have been 'sell outs' and probably the most memorable for the band was playing at the Olympia Ballroom in Liverpool back in October 2000 with Albie Wycherley,(Billy Fury's brother) topping the bill. On the same night The Flames also backed a great British queen of Rock n' Roll Jean Vincent.

To date The Flames continue to entertain throughout the country, occasionally they have backed and worked with Paul Neon, a great Billy Fury soundalike and worked on many tribute shows. 'The Flames' show provides first class entertainment for all ages with its taste of nostalgia from one of the most popular musical era's.

In 1991, Jimmy teamed up with The Flames who were doing the clubs with a shadows set to enthusiastic audiences and surprisingly enough they decided that the best thing for them all was to nick a London bus and travel Europe for the summer, singing as much as they could on the way... actually they began touring the complete Cliff and the Shadows show that, according to no lesser authority than the Cliff Richard fan club, is pretty damn close to the real thing.
